Blenheim Gardens RMO have received the below from Lambeth. They are consulting tenants and resident on creating a Low Traffic Neighborhood in the Brixton Hill area and are looking to implement changes. Please see the below details. We’d like to encourage you to have your say!
We’ve extended the consultation closing date to 3 February 2023, to give people more time to share their views on our proposals to introduce a new LTN in Brixton Hill.
We are asking for feedback on our proposals which would stop through traffic, improve air quality, and encourage more walking, cycling, wheeling and scooting. Our vision is to transform local streets, so they have more greenery, are more pleasant and are no longer dominated by cars and vans using them as shortcuts. We believe this can support the local economy by making businesses more accessible.
Following the consultation, we will review our designs before making a final decision on whether to proceed with a trial LTN in Spring/Summer 2023. During the trial, we will monitor the impact of the LTN and may make further changes to the design if needed, before deciding whether to make it permanent.
The changes proposed include:
• Traffic filters to prevent cut-through traffic. The filters may change vehicle movement to one way or allow vehicles to drive up to but not through the filter from either side. A traffic filter is marked by planters, bollards and signs.
• New trees and plants which will reduce flooding risk and give shade during extreme heat
• Cycle parking
• Support for more sustainable forms of freight, such as e-cargo bikes.
Over the last year, we have worked with local people and analysed data to inform our designs. We want your feedback on our ideas to make the right improvements, in the right places.

The map below shows the LTN layout. Through traffic will be prevented from cutting across the area, but vehicles visiting addresses within the LTN will be able to access them from Acre Lane, the A23, South Circular or Kings Avenue, depending on their destination.
